   From the moment you open the first antique door and pass through the wonderful art filled 35 foot entry, you know you have stepped into history and a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of downtown historic centro.  The foyer has a wonderful half bath located just inside the doors so your guests are afforded privacy and a handcarved cantera lavatory.  The foyer has a barrel ceiling and skylight and is filled with iron crosses and sconces as well as artwork and an old pine piece that serves as the bar and entertainment cabinet for the home.  You will find puzzles, board games, cards and dominoes for your use

     Next comes the beautiful stone stairwell with iron railing and skylight with wonderful antique doors hung on the wall.  The downstairs wall has a 5’ x 7’ punched tin mirror and a beautiful antique Mary and child brought all the way from Italy.  Also a wonderful small English desk with flat screen monitor for your computer needs. The entire home has wireless internet. And at the top of the stairs you are greeted by a magnificent antique French wedding armoire complete with hand carving.

      The kitchen boasts a gorgeous boveda ceiling and all the necessities plus extras that most cooks require.  Tucked behind a gorgeous screen is the utility area with a complete skylight ceiling.

      A beautiful dining room with boveda ceiling and table for six complete with buffet storage and great artwork opens to the living area complete with cantera fireplace with gas logs and antique table with flat screen tv for your viewing pleasure.  Beautiful antique doors open to the a fabulous two story outdoor courtyard complete with fountain, enormous plants and chairs and tables for dining or relaxing.

     Upstairs you will find to the right, a large closet with a combination safe and master bath, complete with separate shower with large head and tub and two handpainted lavatories.  Once again you will find all the conveniences; portable hair dryer, magnifying mirror and terry robes for your use.

     To the left you enter a gorgeous master bedroom complete with mesquite hardwood floors, sitting area and private balcony looking into the courtyard.  The bedroom boasts a log burning cantera fireplace, a boveda ceiling with stone corners and accent lighting.  The sitting area has a complete wood ceiling and more closets for your overflow.  Again your own flat screen tv and dvd and more wonderful oil paintings and other works of art.  And don’t forget about the custom linens with options of down duvets, blankets, and many pillow types, and, ah, those Egyptian cotton sheets.

Beyond the courtyard and three steps up you find a matching pair of antique doors that open into a wonderful, secluded Casita. Complete with your choice of king or twin beds, stone fireplace, and walk-in closet and full bath with shower/tub with large showerhead.  Don’t forget to look up to the incredible cupola in the middle of the boveda ceiling and the magnificent oil paintings.  And the bathroom has all the conveniences:  two terry robes, portable hair dryer and magnifying mirror plus its own skylight.

      And if that was not enough, two Mexican cell phones have been left so you can keep in touch with each other.  You can buy rechargeable cards with the number of minutes you need.  This is much cheaper for calls in Mexico than a US cell phone.  Please be sure to leave these behind for the next person, they really come in handy. These are in addition to the Mexican line and the Vonage for calls to the states at no charge.
